VEAC, Issue #2 -- Ahhh.... The Sweet Smell of Sachets
February 04, 2006
A Little of This, A Little of ThatHi, Everyone!
Well, here is the 2nd issue of the VEAC e-zine. You will find this monthís issue a few day's late and short and sweet. For me, the last few weeks are the kind that you hope don't happen too often. Iím sure all of you have had them. Late in January I lost 2 very dear uncles within 2 weeks time and today we just took my mother-in-law to the hospital. Needless to say, my time was otherwise occupied. But.... I hope I make it up to you by giving you a craft that ANYONE can do. It's authentic Victorian, it's fast, simple .... read on and get ALL the information!
What's New!I havenít been able to get as much information up as I wanted but I think I still may have something that you will enjoy. I have made available (for free, of course) instructions for a no-sew sachet (yes, thatís right. NO SEW!). The instructions were originally published in 1902. If you like to take a look at them, you can go to Sachets.
Once youíre there, youíll also find a download for another sachet. This one does have some embroidery that needs to be done but it is still quite simple to do. The embroidery designs are included for your convenience.
If you make either of these sachets, take a picture and send it to me so I can publish it and share it with all our readers.
Just a note: If you go to the site, you will find I have moved a few things around. Iím trying to make it easier for anyone to find the information they may be looking for. Please bear with me through these changes.
One change you will notice is a ďBlogĒ button. That button basically will take you to any page that changes have been made on or any new page that has been created. That way, you wonít have to go through the whole site looking to see if there is anything new I might not have mentioned in the newsletter.
I am working on a regular blog also. When I have that all figured out, Iíll let you know. The difference between the two blogs (and it took me a while to understand this) is that the blog on my site just lists the pages which have been changed or added. You have to go to the site and click on the button to find out. The other blog is a blog where I just make comments, etc. (like most blogs you have read) with a link back to any page on my website that I may be referring to. Different people like different ways of getting their information so Iím trying to make sure everyone has a way that is easy and convenient for them to get all the updates as they happen.
Please feel free to contact me with any comments, suggestions, or requests. If you are interested in a particular item, let me know. I'll see what I can find for you. Also, if you have expertise in any Victorian needlecrafts or general Victorian crafts and would like to share, by all means, let me know. I would be glad to add a "Guest Author" or maybe "Subscriber Craft Submission" section to the site. Of course, your submission would be attributed to you as the author or designer.
Thank you again for subscribing.
