What's New at VEAC?
August 12, 2010

It's HOT!

I hope your August is going well. We have been having extremely hot and dry weather here. Won't complain though. Better hot and dry than cold and icy ... at least for me, anyway! lol

You may find the next few Victorian Embroidery and Crafts ezine will have one or two fewer items than usual. Unfortunately, my father has been in the hospital and now in a elderly care unit until we can assess his ability to go home. I have been spending most of my time with him, working with the hospital and the care center to make sure he gets the best care possible, so I have not been putting much time adding new items to the site. Please bear with me. I will try very hard to make sure that you receive your weekly ezine in a timely manner and that it contains information that you find interesting.

That said ...

Here are some new additions to Victorian Embroidery and Crafts. I hope you enjoy!

New Stitch

The following stitch has multiple names it goes by.

Leviathan Stitch - This stitch is also known as Smyrna stitch and ... do you know? If it is made a little larger, it is also known as the ??? stitch.

To see if your answers were correct, see Leviathan Stitch.

Craft / Home Decor

Here is an unusual, but very Victorian Hanging Basket. Appliqued and lined with tin or flower pot, it is used mostly for dry arrangement but can be used for fresh flowers.

Learn more about it here: Appliqued Victorian Hanging Basket.

That's it for this newsletter. You can expect another email from me in a week or so with more new and free content.

Until next time....

With warmest regards,
